50 gamechangers: Project Fedora

Scan of Project Fedora from LeveL #74

Project Fedora

Format: PC, Mac
Developer: Big Finish Games
Premiere: 2013

When the gaming world stood and picked between full motion videon and Super Mario 64 the private detective Text Murphy had his moment of greatness. Unlike other games from the same era Under a Killing Moon and The Pandora Directive managed to find a balance between fmv and interactivity – and between Murphy’s untimely old school manners and post-apocalyptic science fiction-noir. Now the fans have funded a sequel.

By now we’ve also learned that the name of the new game will not be the project-name, but Tesla Effect: A Text Murphy Adventure  and is set for a Q! 2014 release. If that window will turn out to be true is too early to tell, but the information says “soon”. The game is being published by Atlus, and that they’re contributing with QA, distribution and marketing.
Looking at the trailer the whole things seems really impressive and something along the lines of Blade Runner. Have a peek for yourself and you’ll see what we mean.
