50 gamechangers: Grim Dawn
Developer: Crate Entertainment
Crate are flirting with Diablo- and DOTA-fans in their upcoming action RPG Grim Dawn – and the game is developed by the gang that made Titan Quest. It’s about loot, it’s about fast combat, it’s about co-op and it’s about men wielding big weapons, guns and magics.

The indie scene has proven before that it can handle the dungeon crawler genre very nicely, so it’s with great anticipation we’re still awaiting the release of Grim Dawn. You can pick it up right now on Early Access, either through the website or Steam. Funding for the game has been plentiful, as it all started with Crate asking for donations straight from their fans, which led to them setting up pre-sales of the game pretty quickly to handle all the emails from people looking to contribute. Then they received some funding from gaming related website GameBanshee and one of the authors behind Penny-Arcade. Finally they set up a Kickstarter asking for $280.000 which finished at over $530.000. Additionally Crate has stated that the game will be kept alive with expansions every six to ten months. Sounds like we should have some happy little dungeon crawlers out there once the final release is available.
