Win with i500

So things aren’t moving along as fast we hoped with the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, so let’s try something else while we’ll keep working on it.

This is the reason we haven’t reported on any of the big titles yet, because we’ve been wanting to do it in juxtaposition with the giveaway. The point is still to get games out to people and hopefully help charities at the same time. So here’s what we’re gonna do:
We’re gonna be giving away the big titles, as well as any bundles we report on. Then we’re gonna ask the winners (not tell, require, or demand) to donate the amount they would have spent on the game or bundle to charity instead. This lets everyone support the charity of their choice instead of a predetermined one as well, which may get people more involved.

So how are we going to do this, how are the winner going to be decided and such?

twitter_bannerWe’ll be using Twitter for this. Competitions will be announced there through tweets and all you need to do to enter is to retweet those tweets. But there are still a few questions that need to be answered, and we’ll divide those into two different headlines:

AAA-titles

When a big enough title hits the shelves (or online platform), such as the already released Dead Space 3 or the upcoming SimCity, we’ll announce a giveaway with the following rules:

  • Entries must follow @indie500project
  • Entries must retweet the tweet announcing the giveaway, including all links, mentions and/or hashtags
  • A winner will be randomly selected from the people that retweeted
  • The winner will be contacted through Twitter Direct Message, asking for preferred platform (if applicable) and method of delivery and/or shipping address for the price, which will then be purchased at and shipped from an appropriate online retailer or service.
  • The winner will be asked (not required) to donate the equivalent of the prize to a charity of their choosing
  • The winner will be asked (not required) to tweet an image of the receipt of the donation
  • The winner will be asked (not required) to tweet an image of the prize upon arrival

Bundels

We’ll keep posting bundles that come up and we’ll be giving away 2 sets of each bundle we post (unless otherwise noted). The bundles will be purchased with the minimum amount allowed to receive all the content of the bundle, one with all the money going to the developers, and one with all the money going to the charity/charities connected to the bundle. And of course, there will be rules:

  • Entries must follow @indie500project
  • Entries must retweet the tweet announcing the giveaway, including all links, mentions and/or hashtags
  • Two winners will be randomly selected from the people that retweeted
  • The winners will be contacted through Twitter Direct Message, asking for¬†preferred platform (if applicable) and a method of delivery for the price, which will then be purchased buy the seller of the bundle and delivered through an appropriate service.
  • The winners will be asked (not required) to donate the equivalent of the prize to a charity of their choosing*
  • The winners will be asked (not required) to tweet an image of the receipt of the donation
  • The winners will be asked (not required to) to tweet an image of the prize upon arrival

* one great way to do this is to purchase the bundle oneself and gift it to someone else, and mark the money for distribution to the charity/charities

With that said, look forward to a bunch of giveaways of the upcoming titles, as well of some that have already been released this year.

Happy gaming!
